Listen to previews of ‘I, Yeah!’

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Our new album is out in under a week!

To celebrate, we’ve created an album minisite at iyeah.co.uk.

From there you can listen to previews of the new tracks. It’s also the place to go to buy the album come April 1st.

Riverside Tavern gig CANCELLED

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

For reasons beyond our control, the Riverside Tavern gig in Newport next week has been cancelled.

Apologies to those of you who were coming along. We recommend you make the trip over the bridge to our April 1st ‘I, Yeah!’ album launch gig instead, where we have a cracking line-up and will be giving away downloads of the album.

We hope to reorganise the Newport gig with Deano, the promoter, once he has sorted out a new venue for his nights…

Music downloads - were broken, now fixed again

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

We had a problem with our music downloads for the last few days. Some of you may not have been able to physically download the tracks from our site, even though they were there and should’ve worked ok.

The offending code has now been found and corrected…

If you experience any problems using the site, please contact our webmaster - webmaster at fablesofglow dot com.

6 Music photos and listen again

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Thanks to everyone for you wonderful comments about our live performance on BBC 6 Music last night!

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and want to thank Tom Robinson for inviting us along and being happy-friendly-good to us.

If you missed the show, you can listen again via the BBC iPlayer, which is available to anyone with a computer and internet access (much like us) for the next 7 days.

Tom very kindly took some photos of us playing and I’ve uploaded some of the best for your amusement:

Silliness abounds in this special instrumental preview of Contradiction.
Ben on live drums and Jim grooving some guitar. Rob on the camcorder…

Recording guitar for ‘Borderline’

A sneek preview of ‘Borderline’, from our upcoming album.
Ben and Jim lay down a guitar part for the track, which is a VERY early version with just chords as a guide.

Your Turn on BBC 6 Music

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Hi everyone! Our latest single, Your Turn, is slowly infiltrating the airwaves…

On Saturday night (actually, Sunday morning) Tom Robinson played it on his ‘Introducing…’ show on the BBC’s 6 Music. I’m a big fan of 6 Music and am even more excited by this bit of airplay than getting on Radio 1 a few weeks back (ooh, controversial).

If you like Your Turn (which we really hope you do!) you can vote for it to be played again next week by going to Tom’s 6 Music site here. Please do take a moment to do this and help us get our music out to as many people as possible!

Remember that you can get Your Turn and all of our previous material absolutely free by going to the music downloads page on our site.

New look site, same old jibber-jabber

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Howdy!

You may have noticed things slowly changing around here over the last couple of days. The old blog and site were looking a bit rough around the gills, so we put them to sleep and created one new über-site! That’s right. No more separate blog. No more awkward switching between the two. We’ve collected together all of the best bits and put them in the same place. There’s even a popup media player, so you can listen to our music as you read about how we recorded the album.

Don’t worry, the old blog content has been moved over to the new site, so if you were originally a subscriber, you still are!

You can look forward to more material in the coming weeks. We’ve all been a bit wrecked by the short Winter days and the misery that comes with them, but now we’ve got a batch of gigs coming up we’ll be bright and springy before you can say “I, Yeah!”. Talking of which, we’ll have more info about that soon - we promise!

what’s going on?
