Album news and upcoming gigs…

Monday, March 10th, 2008

We are pleased to announce that, after a year of hard work, our album is ready for you!

You will be able to download it from our website on 1st April.

It will be available as a set of high quality MP3 files, with a full colour booklet of lyrics and artwork, and the package will be just £5.

(And no, this is not an April Fool!  We really have finished it!)

To celebrate this momentous event in the history of mankind, we will be doing a gig that very night at the Louisiana, in Bristol. We’ve hooked up with the excellent Nova Robotics and the fabulous Yes & No, to put on a show of the best music around.  These guys are really special, so it promises to be a first class, première league event.  Bring as many people as you can possibly think of to this.  It’s gonna be a knockout!

Also, this coming Sunday 16th, we’ll be doing a super-rare acoustic show at the Thekla Social, also in Bristol.  It’s part of the Under The Influence series, where bands get to spin some of the discs that they love.  We’ll be following this up with a set of unplugged reworkings of some of our songs.  As we are the least unplugged band we know, this ought to be a laugh, so don’t miss it!  Free entry.

If you can’t make it to the Bristol shows, please come along to the Riverside Tavern in Newport on 26th March, where we’ll be playing with the wonderful Thinking With Sand, and Project Serpo, who we love.

Right, see you on Sunday, and mark 1st April in your diary now!

New look site, same old jibber-jabber

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Howdy!

You may have noticed things slowly changing around here over the last couple of days. The old blog and site were looking a bit rough around the gills, so we put them to sleep and created one new über-site! That’s right. No more separate blog. No more awkward switching between the two. We’ve collected together all of the best bits and put them in the same place. There’s even a popup media player, so you can listen to our music as you read about how we recorded the album.

Don’t worry, the old blog content has been moved over to the new site, so if you were originally a subscriber, you still are!

You can look forward to more material in the coming weeks. We’ve all been a bit wrecked by the short Winter days and the misery that comes with them, but now we’ve got a batch of gigs coming up we’ll be bright and springy before you can say “I, Yeah!”. Talking of which, we’ll have more info about that soon - we promise!

Radio 1 airplay

RadioYes, that's right folks. Bethan Elfyn was kind enough to play 'Your Turn' on her Radio 1 show last night.

You can listen again here and get the tracklisting for the show here. The show will be available to listen to for the next 6 days, or you can download 'Your Turn' in high quality MP3 format completely free from our website right here.

Enjoy!

Exclusive first radio play of our new single!

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Last night, Adam Walton played our brand new single ‘Your Turn’ on his Radio Wales show. This was an exclusive first play of the track, which until last night hadn’t been heard by anyone outside of Glow!!

The track itself is the first single from our upcoming debut album ‘I, Yeah!’ and is to be released in the New Year as a digital download with a rather magnificent b-side that won’t be available on the album. It will be available only from our website - more info on that soon…

Anyway, to hear the track you can use the BBC Radio ‘listen again’ service. It will be available for THIS WEEK ONLY!

Check it out here.

Want to sing on our album?

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

We’re looking for volunteers to sing on one of our tracks. It’s gonna be a massive chorus with as many of our friends and fellow musicians singing on it as possible.

So far, we’ve already got a fair number of voices, but we want MORE!

If you’re interested, simply e-mail us at fourchoircles@fablesofglow.com and we’ll send you two small .mp3 tracks of the section to be recorded (one with guide vocals, one without).

What you will need:

  • A method of recording to your computer, or of transferring recorded material to your computer
  • A half-decent mic
  • The ability to sing (optional)

The part will ideally be recorded in high quality .wav format and returned to us using a file-sending service such as yousendit.com

Reckon you’re up to it? Go on, give it a try!

I, Yeah!

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

Hello!

Ok, we’ve been lying low for a while now. The reason - we’ve been making a record!

Well….we’re proud to announce that it’s called ‘I, Yeah!’ and we hope we’ll have it finished by the end of the year! We reckon we’ve really nailed it this time. We cannot wait to finish it and release it!

In the meantime, we have a little something for you. As of now, you will be able to download a new track - ‘Don’t Rush’ - for free from HERE! The track didn’t really fit on the album, but we like it anyway… so we thought you might like it too!

More details on ‘I, Yeah!’ soon!

Enjoy ‘Don’t Rush’!

bye for now

RSEF gig cancelled

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Well, they say ‘postponed until 2008′, but we read that as cancelled!!

Here’s the press release we received:

It is with deepest regret that Rainbow Spirit Enlightenment Fayre will not take place during 2007 at Chepstow Racecourse. The festival has been postponed for 12 months and will now take place on the second week of August 2008, details will be posted on the website by the end of August 2007.

Serious health and safety issues have been highlighted at a site health and safety inspection conducted on the 29th July 2007. The timescale for amending these issues is insufficient as the site build was due to commence 30th July 2007, therefore due to the serious risks present at the venue, the decision has been taken at a Directors meeting to postpone the event until 2008. The Directors wish to express deep disappointment with the decision taken to inform festival goers of the postponement of the event.

The management team request all ticket purchasers seek a refund from their respective ticket outlets forthwith. Furthermore ticket purchasers that used Ticketweb services are recommended to contact the team regarding the event in 2008 as a special offer awaits in the form of a significant reduction in purchase prices for tickets next year and free passes to the event. All purchasers must forward proof of purchase to the event team at info@rainbowspiritenlightenmentfayre.org.uk to take advantage of the special offers available in 2008.

The management request all artistes, agents and infrastructure personnel contact at the earliest opportunity to rearrange performances for August 2008 as we wish to retain as many of the present line-up and festival build for 2008.

Nominated charities shall continue to be supported throughout the year at various events that the management team promote, we look forward to their involvement at the festival in 2008. £2.0m of donations have been lost in 2007,the management team will endeavour to work towards donating a similar amount in 2008.

We thank everyone for their support in 2007 and seek your continued assistance in 2008.

Nevermind!
